BELLEVUE, LA - Services for Jim Gordon Burge will be 10 a.m. Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Rose-Neath's Bossier Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Cleve Cyrus, pastor of Bellevue Baptist Church, where Jim was a member. Interment will be at Burge Family Cemetery, Bellevue, LA. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Bossier City, LA. Jim was born July 5, 1935 in Doyline, LA to Walter and Myrth Burge and died August 29, 2016 in Bellevue. LA. He retired as a surveyor from the LA Highway Department. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Betty Wallace. Jim is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sarah Burge; son Mitch Burge and wife, Judy; daughter, Vickie Rhodes and husband, Johnny, all of Bellevue, LA; grandchildren, Jeremy Burge, Kristie Mills (Kenny), Katie Maxey (Phillip), Korie Rhodes; four great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; brother, Cecil Burge and sister, Carolyn Mills. Honoring Jim as pallbearers will be nephews and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Walker, Lynn Beaty, T.E. Williams and Cotton O'Neal.
