Jimmie Dee Ellis

Jimmie Dee Johnson Ellis was born in Ruston, Louisiana on November 18, 1929. She graduated from West Monroe High School before attending Louisiana State University where she graduated in 1951. Her husband and one true love, John Charles "Sonny" Ellis SR, with whom she would have celebrated 65 years of marriage on February 3, 2016, survived her. She is also survived by daughter Kendy Ellis Munson and her husband Donald; daughter Janet Ellis Bonnette; son Chuck Ellis; five grandchildren, Sarah Munson Levy and her husband Andy, Christine Munson Sharp and her husband Julian, Jessica Munson and her partner Joe Taylor, Dan May and his wife Jill, Kelly May; and five great grandchildren, Drew Levy, Elliott Levy, Nadia May, Natalia May and Leigha Taylor. Pallbearers will be Donald Munson, Dan May, Donnie Clack, Ed Milford, Andy Levy and Julian Sharp. The family extends its heart to Dr. Ghattas for his compassion and eternal optimism, and the entire 2nd floor staff at Christus Highland Hospital. Also our love goes out to life long friend Dempsey Horton and a very special person, Emilie. Services will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral home, 2500 Southside Drive in Shreveport on Friday, January 29, 2016. Visitation will be from 8:30-10am with service to follow at 10am. Burial will follow at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 7970 Mike Clark Road in Keithville, LA.
