Funeral services for Jimmie Venoye Hamric, 82, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Snell Cemetery in Emmet, Arkansas. Officiating the service will be Brother Robert Gallant, Worshipful Master, Cypress Lodge #89.
Jimmie was born on May 19, 1940 in Emmet, Arkansas to James and Edna Hamric and passed away Sunday, January 15, 2023 in Bossier City, Louisiana.
He was a member of the Cypress Masonic Lodge #89 and retired from KCS Railroad after 35 years of loyal service. He was involved with the Shreveport Orchid Society and loved photography, to travel and hunt and fish.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his son, Jim V. Hamric, Jr.; mother, Edna Earline Reyenga Hamric Williamson and her second husband, Blanchard “Buddy” Williamson; father, James Thomas Hamric and mother-in-law, Beulah Johnson. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carolyn Hamric; daughter, Kimberly B. Hamric; aunt, Bettye Reyenga and special cousins, Paul “P.R.” Hamric, Martha Jane Mann, Steven Gerald Reyenga and William Paul Reyenga and wife, Carol.
Honoring Jimmie as pallbearers will be Nicholas Roberts, William Paul Reyenga, Paul Gordon “P.G” Hamric and Philip Williams. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Paul Ray Hamric and Steven G. Reyenga.
The family would like to express special thanks to the staff at Regional Hospice, especially to Debbie Brakeville, Tish McSee, Jenny Collins, Joann Deloache and Holly Prespine. The family would also like to express special thanks to Jo Nunnery, Jamie, Tashia, Renee, Christine, Mary, Sierra, Lisa, Pat Nepper, Brooke and Dee for the care and compassion shown to Jimmie and to his special neighbor, Paula Tinsley. Additionally, they would like to thank Tami Buckner, Philip Williams, Kristi Faulkner, the Masons of Louisiana and the Masons of Arkansas as well as the staff of Rose-Neath Funeral Home, especially Martin Faktor and Hannah Hickman.
The family suggests memorials may be made to Masonic Lodge #89, 112 5th St. Benton, LA 71006.
