Jimmie Sue Hughes

BOSSIER CITY, LA - Funeral services will be held for Jimmie Sue Hughes, 75, at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 20, 2015 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, LA 71101. Interment will follow at Centuries Memorial Park. Officiating will be Tim Wood. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2015 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jimmie was born on February 17, 1940 in Coal City, AL to Margaret Lucille Warren and Earcy Barber. She met and married her husband, Bobby in 1960 and they made their home in Bossier City. Jimmie loved cooking, sewing, fishing, and gardening. But what she loved most was her family. She was a treasure to her children, grandchildren, and sisters. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Jimmie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bobby Hughes. Left to cherish her memory are her three sons; Jessie R. Hughes and wife, Vickie of Vivian, LA, Bobby D. Hughes and wife, Debbie of Stonewall, LA and James K. Hughes and wife, Keri of Haughton, LA; three sisters, Elizabeth Burks of Fort Worth, TX, Betty Ann McPhearson and husband, Sonny of Joaquin, TX and Nancy Cullen of Mansfield, LA; also left are her 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Honoring Jimmie as pallbearers will be her family and friends.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Joanne Fowler for all the love, care and support she has given to Jimmie throughout the years. Also, a special thanks to all of the many family, friends, neighbors, and her church family. Your prayers, love, and kindness will never be forgotten.
