Mansfield, LA - Funeral services honoring the life of Jimmie Lee Lagars, 79, will be at 10:00 AM Sunda, January 17, 2016 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, LA with Reverend Toby Shaw officiating. Burial will follow at Rockdale Cemetery in Mansfield, LA. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, LA from 5:00 PM till 9:00 PM.
Jimmy Lagars passed away at home with his wife by his side on January 14, 2016 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Jimmie was born January 31, 1936 in Grand Bayou, LA to Courtney Lagars and Roxie George Lagars.
Jimmy was a retired postman and he also served in the U.S. Army.
Preceding Jimmy in death are his parents Courtney and Roxie Lagars and three brothers, Hershal Lagars, Bill Lagars, and Courtney "Sonny" Lagars.
Those left behind to cherish his memory is his wife of 30 years Rebecca Adams Lagars ; daughters, Mandie Adams of Hamilton, OH, Terri Lagars of Mansfield, LA, Jerri Lagars of Mansfield, LA, Cheryl Muhammad of Shreveport, LA; brother, Tommy LaGars and wife Lillian of Mansfield, LA; sisters, Lennis Young of Hall Summit, LA, Corley Dysart of Kingston, LA; Gloria McMorris of Suwanee, GA, Joyce Middleton and husband Darrylyn of Mansfield, LA, Linda Lawrence and husband Johnny of Shelbyville, TX; grandchildren, Kaitlyn White, Evan White, Grayson Adams, Jonathan Bayles, Kaylee Lagars, Michael Castie, Caleb and Cameron Lagars, Traci and Brad Breazeale, and Megan Muhammad.
Those honoring the life of Jimmie as pallbearers will be Matt Ruiloba, Gary Evans, Rex Middleton, Dillon Hubier, Paul McFadden, and James Averitt. Those honoring as honorary pallbearers will be Reimer Calhoun, Jr., Darrylyn Middleton, and Louis Lagars.
