Jimmie McGuire

Graveside services for William J. "Jimmie" McGuire, II age 73 will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, August 13, 2020 at the Vivian Cemetery, Vivian, LA with his son, Trey McGuire officiating. The services are under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 705 S. Spruce Street, Vivian, LA. Jimmie was born November 20, 1946 in Shreveport, LA to William James McGuire and Allene Hargrove McGuire. He passed away on August 9, 2020 at North Caddo Medical Center after a brief illness. In earlier years, Jimmie was an avid duck and deer hunter, fisherman and had a love for the outdoors. He was of the Baptist faith. Jimmie is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 43 years, Susan Bounds McGuire, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Billy and Betty Bounds. Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Rachal McGuire Stevens and husband, Chris of Vivian, LA and William "Trey" McGuire, III and wife, Tiffany of Shreveport, LA; grandchildren, Paige Sherman, Conly Stevens and Adley McGuire. He is also survived by his sister, Ann Kennington of Hall Summit, LA; sisters-in-law, Terry Guy of Vivian, LA and Jerry Adcock and husband, Arthur of Atlanta, TX and numerous nieces and nephews and friends. Honoring Jimmie as pallbearers will be Charles Gholson, Mac Hobbs, Johnny Reed, Larry Heflin, Artie Howse and Jimmy Don Farmer. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Ainsworth, Lynn Chiles and Vernon Jennings. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the military support charity everywarrior.org.
