Jimmie W. Miller
Funeral services for Jimmie W. Miller will be held Thursday, April 7, 2016 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Minden, Louisiana with Rev. Leland Crawford and Rev. Bill Crider officiating with eulogy given by James Madden. Interment will follow at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Shongaloo, Louisiana under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden. The family will receive friends from 5until 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home.
Jimmie was born June 30, 1945 in Minden, Louisiana and entered into rest April 4, 2016 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He graduated from Minden High School in 1963 and Louisiana Tech University in 1974. He was employed with Kansas City Southern Railroad, Schaffer, McDaniel and Williams, Bodcau Land and Timber in Jena, Louisiana, and from 1985 until retirement in 2012 as controller for Madden Contracting Company. Jimmie was an active member of First Baptist Church, Mike Jackson's Sunday School Class, Volunteer Fire Fighter and the Cattleman's Association. He enjoyed farming, raising cattle, gardening, fishing and his family. Jimmie was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren at their sports events and special occasions when family was always together enjoying each other.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ruben Pruitt and Era Morgan Miller, and sister Martha Ann Wynn.
He is survived by his wife Linda Duke Miller of Minden, daughter Kristie Miller Copeland and husband Paul of Minden, son Michael Duke Miller of Minden, grandsons Connor Rayne Copeland, Caden Sellers Copeland, John Daniel Miller, and Michael Dylan Miller, brother Marvin Carroll Miller of Laguna Niguel, California, sister Bernice Miller Underwood and husband Lynn of Minden and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Doug Madden, John Madden, Mike Crumpton, Bob Moorehead, Claude Reeves and Mike Jackson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Duke, Steve Rowe, Dr. David Tyler, Dennis Copeland, Mike Jackson's Adult Sunday School Class and the Cattleman's Association.
