Bossier City, LA - Jimmie R. Weaver, age 79, went to be with the Lord and his beloved wife, Sandy, on May 26, 2018, at Christus Schumpert Highland Hospital af ter a month-long battle which he fought like a warrior. Jim was born in Natchitoches Parish on December 11, 1938, to Lem Boyd Weaver and Lottie Purswell Weaver.
He graduated from Readhimer High School and attended Northwestern State University. Jim was retired from the Bossier City Police Department as assistant Chief. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Temple Lodge and he was an El Karuba Shriner. Jim was a HAM Radio operator and his call sign was KF5IHX. He was the founder of H&W Custom Calls. Jim was an avid hunter and duck hunting was his passion as was wood carving.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Robinson Weaver, and his parents. He is survived by his daughters, Tammy Darlene Weaver of Corpus Christi, TX, and Lisa Michelle Weaver Smith of Bossier Parish, and the great joys of his (Pappy's) life, his grandsons, Cameron Scott Weaver Smith, Cody Christopher Weaver Smith and Jeffrey Hunter Weaver Smith all of Bossier Parish; siblings William Watson Weaver of Coushatta, Gloria (Glo) Weaver of Quitman, Stella (Binky) Speir and husband, Teddy, of Natchitoches, Lem Boyd Weaver, Jr., and wife Linda, of Houma, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 30, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier. Services will take place 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Bossier Chapel with burial to follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Hall Summit.
Pallbearers will be nephews and former Bossier City police officers.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
