Services for Jimmy W. Gay will be held at Rose-Neath Bossier at 12 noon on Monday, May 28, 2018. Officiating will be Rev. Harrell Shelton. Interment will follow at Springhill Cemetery, Ringgold, LA. Visit will be prior to the service on Monday, beginning at 11 a.m.
Jimmy was born to Jimmy W. and Ceola Conly Gay on April 9, 1934 in Red River Parish. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Talton Gay and Wayne Gay and sisters, Grace Worley and Marvie Mitchell. Survivors include his wife, Jan; daughter, Amy Douthit; son, Scott Gay; grandchildren, Jeremy Douthit and wife, Sarah, Julia Smith and husband, Scott and Trey Winkler; great grandchildren, Catherine Douthit and Levi Smith. Jimmy is also survived by sister, Billie Jean Hood; sister-in-law, Jo Anne Gay and many beloved nieces and nephews. We would like to express our love and appreciation to Bill Winkler for all his thoughtfulness and care through the years.
Jimmy was a retired engineer for Kansas City Southern Railway. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Bossier. Jimmy was a Christian and his word was his bond. He was our beloved rock.
