A funeral service celebrating the life of Jimmy “Jim” Dale DuVall, Sr., 80, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Bossier City, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial to follow the service at Hill Crest Memorial Park, 601 US-80, Haughton, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Brother Harrell Shelton.
Jim was born July 6, 1942, in Olla, Louisiana to Herbert E. DuVall and Mildred Newby DuVall, and on Thursday, September 15, 2022, in Benton, Louisiana Jim left this life to be reunited with his wife in his new home in heaven.
He completed high school at Thomas Jefferson High School in El Paso, Texas, and continued his education at Centenary College of Louisiana. Graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Business in 1974, a master’s in 1978 and obtained his CPA license in 1975. He served in the United States Navy Reserve from May 1965 to December 1969, first in Guam and then in Charlotte, North Carolina. Jim spent his working years in various endeavors, from public accounting to private companies, finishing his career with the U.S. Agency for International Development, serving in various countries in Africa and Europe. Jim was an active member of Airline Baptist Church who loved working with the children as a Sunday school teacher, AWANA, and Vacation Bible School.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents; and beloved wife of 48 years, Peggy Miller Duvall. He is survived by his son, Jimmy Dale DuVall II; daughter, Cynthia DuVall Tittle; five grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
