Bossier City, LA - Homecoming services for Mr. Jimmy L. Joyner will conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Bossier City. Officiating will be Brother George Rogers, assisted by Brother David McCormick. Interment will follow at Strange Methodist Cemetery on Hwy 7 in Readhimer, LA. The family will receive visitors from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Rose-Neath Bossier Funeral Home. Jimmy was born August 19, 1940 in Chestnut, LA to Till and Hilda Joyner. Jimmy went to be with his Lord and Savior September 19, 2016 in Shreveport, LA. Jimmy served his country in the United States Army for two years. He retired from Halliburton Energy Services after 17 plus years of service. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, uncle and husband, as well as a very hard worker. Jimmy loved to camp in the mountains with his travel trailer. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved watching his two favorite teams play football, the New Orleans Saints and the LSU Tigers. He was preceded in death by his son, Marty Joyner; his parents, Till and Hilda Joyner and brothers, Joe and Mike Joyner. Jimmy is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Vicki Joyner; sons, Jeff Joyner and wife, Stacy, Sean Joyner and wife, Tiffany; grandchildren, Jennifer Joyner, Jimmy Joyner, Lyndsey Sands, Haley Joyner, Landon Joyner, Isabella Joyner and sisters-in-law, Nancy, Jean, Liz and Sandy. Honoring Jimmy as pallbearers will be, Joe Joyner, Sam Marsiglia, Keith Johnson, Mike Johnson, Brian Joyner, Jimmy Joyner and Mike Joyner. Honorary pallbearers will be, Larry Greer, Jim Stanley, Ken Campbell, Landon Joyner and Scott Johnston. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him, including his beloved cat, Muffin who was always his loyal companion. Jeff and Sean would like to acknowledge the unwavering love, care and support that their mother gave to their father. She never left his side and he had the comfort in knowing she was always there for him. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospitals for Children, 3100 Samford Ave, Shreveport, LA 71103.
