Jimmye Sue Walsworth

Funeral services for Jimmye Sue Walsworth, 82, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 1:00 until time of service. Burial will be held at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent. Officiating the service will be Chaplain Steve Hall.

Jimmye Sue was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on August 13, 1940 to R. C. Gabbard and Della Mae Hall Watson and passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Jimmye Sue retired after 20 years of loyal service as a teacher in the Caddo Parish School system. She enjoyed her many years volunteering at the Schumpert Cancer Treatment Center and was an active member of Shreve City Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd L. Walsworth, Sr.; brother, Robert L. Garner; maternal grandparents, Nat and Mary Hall and uncle, Freddie Hooper. Left to cherish her memory are her niece, Deidre Garner; nephew, Jason Garner and wife, Kristina; great-nieces, Blake Garner and Brice Garner and numerous special cousins and friends.

Honoring Jimmye Sue as pallbearers will be Chad Neeley, Brandon Neeley, Koby Owens, Jim Manners, Rodney Barnwell, Fred Maddox, Dr. William “Butch” Gibson and Wayne Moseley. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Cecil Carter, Jr., Delbert Chumley, Mike Barnwell, Billy Owens and Jimmie Barnwell.
