Jo Ann Curry

Jo Ann Curry, 84, of Haughton, Louisiana was born on December 17, 1938, to Otto and Myra Caston in Rayville, Louisiana, and passed away on Friday, December 15, 2023, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Jo was a very kind, caring, and compassionate woman. She was married to her one true love, Marvin, for 66 years before he passed away in 2022. She gave birth to four children whom she gave all of herself to as a homemaker until she went back to work in 1973 as a nursing assistant at Northwest Louisiana State School until she retired. She absolutely loved children and caring for them. She started keeping kids in her home along with some of her grandchildren. Children loved her and knew they were safe and loved when they were with her. She also loved nurturing and tending to the flowers in her flower beds and garden. She loved holidays and any excuse to get the family together. Her family meant the world to her and she to them. She was loved by all who knew her, and she will be missed dearly.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin; daughters, Debbie and Rhonda Jean; and great-grandchild, Jase. Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Jean and Mildred; son, Randy, and wife, Joy; daughter, Donna; grandchildren, Christine, Courtnie and husband, Walt, Christopher, Jacob and wife, Tracie, Chase and wife, Donna; great-grandchildren, Bre, Casen, Caty, Jace, and Madi.

Honoring Jo as pallbearers will be Randy, Courtnie, Donna, Casen, Chase, Christopher, and Walter. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be her grandson, Jacob.

The family would like to express special thanks to the staff, doctors, and nurses from Compassus Hospice for all they did for Jo Ann during this time.  Also, Donna I. Collins for loving Bigmom like she was your own.
