ARCADIA, LA: Funeral services will be held for Mrs. Joan Weible Smith, age 85, at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home at 1680 First Street in Arcadia, LA. Bro. Jeff Hoffman will officiate. Interment will follow at Hurricane Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. Mrs. Smith was born March 26, 1932, to John and Mary Della Lutrick Weible. She passed away on September 11, 2017, in Shreveport, LA. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Arcadia and was the teacher for older ladies Sunday School. Mrs. Smith owned and operated the Old Town Market Place. Her family was very important to her and she enjoyed the holidays when all would come to her home and make memories. Mrs. Smith was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great, great grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bobby Joe Smith; and three sisters. Mrs. Smith is survived by two daughters, Patti Parker and husband, Steve of Shreveport and Pam Barger and husband, Hank of Sibley, LA; two sons, Jimmie Smith and wife, Lindy of Arcadia, LA and Robert "Bo" Smith and wife, Cathy of Shreveport, LA; twelve grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; four great, great grandchildren;: and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jeason Smith, Phillip Smith, Clint Smith, Steven Smith, Spencer Smith, Cohen Holomon and Stefan Swegel. Honorary pallbearer will be Robert Joseph Smith, Jr., Chris Holomon and Dylan Smith. Memorials may be made to Live Oak Retirement Community, C/O Ann Harris, 600 East Flournoy Lucas Road, Shreveport, LA 71115.
