Vivian, LA - Funeral services celebrating the life of JoAnn Powell Hebert, age 79 will be held at 2:00 P. M. Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Shiloh Pentecostal Church in DeQuincy, LA with a 1-2 P.M. visitation. Officiating at the service will be Pastor C. V. Holley, pastor of The Potter's House, Vivian, LA, assisted by Pastor Eddie Hoosier of Shiloh Pentecostal Church, DeQuincy. Graveside services will be conducted by Rev. T. D. Cardwell at the Perkins Cemetery in DeQuincy. There will be a time of visitation on Thursday, June 11th at the Potter's House, 15427 Highway One, Vivian.
Mrs. Hebert was born in DeQuincy, LA on June 24, 1935 to Alex and Idell Harrison Powell and passed away on June 6, 2015 at North Caddo Medical Center after a brief illness. She was retired from the State of Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicle. Mrs. Hebert was a member of the Potter's House and a former member of Shiloh Pentecostal Church.
Mrs. Hebert was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Melvin Hebert and her son, Derwyne Bell. She is survived by her daughter, Lynette Holley and husband, Pastor C. V. Holley; sisters, Arlene LaCroix, Margaret VanWinkle both of DeQuincy and Betty Groves of Merryville, LA. Mrs. Hebert is also survived by her only grandchild, Cecilia Holley of Vivian, LA and nephews, Rev. Jimmy VanWinkle and Johnny VanWinkle and niece, Dwana Jones.
