COUSHATTA, LA - Funeral services for Joe Thomas Pullig, Jr., will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2015 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Coushatta, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Clarence Chism. Interment will follow at Old Ramah Cemetery, Ashland, LA. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m.
Joe passed away in the Natchitoches Parish hospital Sunday morning December 28, 2014. He was born June 22, 1934 in Elm Grove, LA to Joe Thomas Pullig, Sr. and Julia Aline McCain Pullig.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters; Pamela Elizabeth and Mary Ann Pickett Filler. He is survived by his daughters; Carrie Pamela Pullig Netherton Sloan and Charlotte Anne Pullig Netherton. Joe is also survived by three grandchildren; Samuel Carter Miley, Megan Sarah Miley and Sawyer Littlejohn Sloan. Surviving Joe is great-grandson, Luke Addison Miley. Also surviving Joe is the mother of his children, Sharon Grigg Netherton; niece, Delena Arbuckle, nephew, Cary Pickett; two aunts; Wanda Straeka and Jean Saxon; one uncle, Robert L. McCain as well as many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Joe served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany. He worked for many years with Tri-State Oil Tool in Bossier City, LA. He was an avid gardener and lover of the outdoors.
The family extends their thanks to the friends and neighbors and the Natchitoches Parish Nursing Home for their care and kindness for Joe over the last years of his life.
