Joe Allen Slay

Deberry, TX - A funeral service for Joe Allen Slay, 80, will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the funeral home. Joe was born on September 13, 1934 in Appleby, TX to William Drewey and Lorene Bentley Slay. He passed away on January 12, 2015. Joe was preceded in death by parents, wife, Connie Faye Scales Slay, brother, W.D. Slay Jr., and daughter Pamela Jo Slay. He is survived by daughters, Cynthia Slay Britt and Melinda Slay Campbell and husband, Larry; 5 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren. Honoring him as pallbearers are Ray Bush, Jason Barritt, Junior Procell, Crandel Cummings, Troy Cummings, and Randy Parks. Honorary pallbearers are David Gauthier and Bo Smith.
