Joel Scott Neilsen

Shreveport, La - Joel Scott Nielsen, 27, passed away on December 28, 2014 after a sudden illness. Services will be held at Rose Neath Southside. Visitation will be on Friday, January 2 from 5-8 pm. Funeral service will be on Saturday, January 3 at 12 noon. Interment will follow at Forest Park West. Officiating will be Pastor Phillip Harden. Scott was born on July 5, 1987 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Gregory \'Scottie\' Nielsen and Wendy Brazzell Nielsen. He was employed as lead climber at Miller Tree Service. When he wasn\'t working, Scott enjoyed spending time with his family. Scott is survived by his wife, Whitney Nielsen, and his children; Zachary, Callynn, and Rylie; parents; Gregory \'Scottie\' Nielsen and Wendy Brazzell Nielsen; siblings; Amy and husband Michael Keen, Amber Nielsen, and Ailene Nielsen; numerous nieces and nephews; and grandparents; Linda Clark, and Joel and Evelyn Brazzell.
