Shreveport, LA - Celebration of Life services for John Foriest Arnold, 79, will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, February 6, 2015; in the Rose-Neath Southside Chapel with Dr. Larry Williams officiating. Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Centuries Memorial Cemetery, Shreveport, LA.The family would like to welcome guests for visitation Friday, February 6, 2015; from 9:00 AM until time of service at 10:00 AM at Rose-Neath.Mr. Arnold was born February 25, 1935; in Bradley, AR, to the late Drew Byron and Mary Alice Dunn Arnold and was called home February 3, 2015; in Shreveport, LA. He was a mechanic in the oil field and was blessed to have survived an actual explosion. Mr. Arnold always took great pride in caring for his siblings, his children and his grandchildren. He was a good God fearing man, always gentle, strong when needed and laid back. Mr. Arnold will be remembered as a gentleman always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.Mr. Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, daughter; Kimberly Arnold Pullen, son; Foriest Dwayne Arnold, granddaughter; Rebecca Arnold, grandson; Chuck Speights, son-in-law; Jeffrey Crawford Pullen and three siblings.Left to cherish the wonderful memories John leaves behind will be his beloved wife of 58 years; Carol Jean Miller Arnold, seven grandchildren; Jeffrey Pullen II, Kathleen Pullen, Matthew Pullen, Jason Arnold and wife Christina, Sara Brown and husband Benjamin, Rachel Arnold and Megan Arnold, daughter-in-law; Suzy, eight siblings, many extended family members and a number of wonderful friends.Honoring Mr. Arnold as pallbearers will be Jeffrey Pullen II, Matthew Pullen, TC Pullen, Jason Arnold, Benjamin Brown and Bobby Young.
