SHREVEPORT, LA - Celebration of Life services for John Frank Blackwell, 80, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 10, 2014, in the Rose-Neath Southside Chapel with Pastor Troy Bayne officiating. Interment will follow on the grounds of the Old Town Cemetery, Haynesville, LA, at 12:30 P.M. The family would like to welcome guests for visitation Tuesday, December 9, 2014, from the hours of 5-7 P.M. at Rose-Neath. Mr. Blackwell was born November 2, 1934, in Haynesville, LA, to the late William and Nora Blackwell and was called to his Heavenly home December 8, 2014. Mr. Johnny was an extraordinary family man that always put their needs first, from his spouse to his great- grandchildren, the love and pride he showed through the years in seldom experienced. Mr. Blackwell was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife; Janie Kirkpatrick Blackwell. Left to cherish the wonderful memories Mr. Johnny leaves behind will be his three children; Jana Johnston and husband Roger, Jody Blackwell and wife Elane and Judy Bayne and husband Troy, one sister; Nancy King, six grandchildren; Jeremy Johnston and wife Jodi, Jena Johnston, Haley Van Sandt and husband Samuel, Kristin Bayne, Allison Bayne and John Robert Blackwell, three great-grandchildren; Jaxon Johnston, Jayde Johnston and Sophie Van Sandt, along with numerous extended family members and many wonderful friends. Honoring Mr. Blackwell as pallbearers will be Jeremy Johnston, John Robert Blackwell, Samuel Van Sandt, Jay Bice, Murf King, Tommy Bourn, Thomas Gene Bourn and Jim Brooks. Honorary pallbearer will be Judge Jamie Bice. The family would like to express their warmest gratitude to the staff of Life Care Hospital for their care and compassion.
