John Edgar Frazier, Jr.

Shreveport, LA - John Frazier walked through the gates of Heaven on April 1, 2015 from complications and injuries resulting from a 2012 automobile accident as well as cancer. Waiting at the gates were his daughter, Barbara Ann Frazier and son, Gregory Lyn Frazier. Son-in-law, Luther Ray Copeland will officiate the service under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Southside Chapel. Visitation will be held Friday, April 3, 2015 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Interment will be at Emma Cemetery in Plain Dealing, Louisiana. John was born November 6, 1934 to John Frazier, Sr. and Charlotte Graham Frazier of Wapakoneta, Ohio. While John was stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base, he met the love of his life, Patsy Dean. They were married on October 1, 1957. Of this union, five children were born; Mike, Barbara Ann, Jeff, Greg, and Lisa. John was preceded in death by his parents, John Frazier, Sr. and Charlotte Graham Frazier; daughter, Barbara Ann Frazier; and son, Gregory Lyn Frazier. John was a simple and generous man. He found much happiness sitting in a boat with his son catching fish on Black Lake. While fishing Black Lake, John made many friends who loved to listen to his advice and knowledge John possessed about fishing and his techniques. John touched many lives with his honesty, integrity, and wit. John is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Patsy; sons, Michael Frazier, Jeffrey Frazier, and wife Rosie; daughter, Lisa Copeland and husband, Luther; all of Shreveport, LA. Grandchildren, LaShae Joslin of Sulphur Springs, TX, John Michael Frazier of West Monroe, LA, and Nikki Copeland of Shreveport, LA; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Jeanine Overholt and husband, John of Urbana, OH; and brother, Roger Frazier and wife, Ellie of Lima, OH. Honoring John as pallbearers will be R. B. Jonas, Dr. Keith Ratcliff, Harley Gray, Dock Copeland, Jared Copeland, and Bobby Lawrence. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. James W. Thompson and Dr. Richard C. Kamm, Jr. The family would like to express much gratitude to the staff of Willis Knighton Pierremont (floor 5E), Lori Powell, Daphne Anthony, Louisiana Home Health Care, Shannon Clark, Rachel Sullivan, Dr. James W. Thompson, and Dr. Richard D. Kamm, of Pulmonary and Critical Care. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to The American Heart Association, The Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice.
