John D. Gasaway "J.D."

John D. Gasaway “J.D.”, 61, was born on January 1, 1963, to Samuel Gasaway, Jr. and Janette Lucille Gasaway (Hice) in Dallas, Texas, and passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024, in Bossier City, Louisiana.

J.D. married the love of his life, Rhonda Carol Moring on June 30, 1982. He joined the United States Navy in August 1985, retiring from Naval Air Station Lemoore, California in October 2002. Once retired they moved to Bossier City, Louisiana, where J.D. worked for the Louisiana Department of Transportation for over 21 years, where he retired for the last time in January of 2024.

J.D.’s life was exciting and interesting, but his most prized accomplishment was his family. He and Rhonda spent their whirlwind marriage moving across the country and loving each other for over 38 years. He will always be loved and missed dearly.

J.D. was preceded in death by his wife, Rhonda Carol Gasaway; father, Samuel Gasaway, Jr.; mother, Janette Lucille Hice (Gasaway); two brothers, and one daughter. He is survived by his daughter, Veronica Goldsberry, and husband, Ryan Goldsberry, and his granddaughter. He is also survived by 3 sisters and two brothers.
