John Glenn was born on January 17, 1963, in Okolona, Mississippi to John Earl and Arneta Davis and passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

John Glenn was a resident of Shreveport where he graduated from Woodlawn High School. He was co-owner of the family business, Davis Upholstery. He was also the owner of Southern Pride Miniature Horse Farm. He was very dedicated and passionate about both businesses. He went to work full time alongside his father after high school. He loved animals, especially black labs and miniature horses. He was very proud of the fact that he had some of the smallest horses in the area.

Family was a big part of his life. He always looked forward to and helped plan the annual family reunion Labor Day weekend at Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He enjoyed short weekend trips especially if water, mountains, snow, or fall foliage were involved. He was inducted as a 32nd Degree Mason in September 1993.

John Glenn lived a full life. The last 14 years were challenging as his body began failing due to Huntington’s Disease. He was greatly loved and will be missed tremendously by those of us who loved him.

John Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, John and Arneta Davis. Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Matthew Dylan Davis, Brice Davis; daughter, Faythe Davis; sister, Debbie Crisp and husband, Chris; brother, Kevin Davis and wife, Debbie; Larry and Kathleen Porter; nieces and nephews, Rebekkah Crisp, Jedidiah Crisp and wife, Anna, Hannah Ready and husband, Josh, Dylan Davis, Zachary Davis, and Josh Davis; and great-nieces and nephews, Harper, Landry, and Zedekiah Crisp.

Honoring John Glenn as pallbearers will be Jedidiah Crisp, Dylan Davis, Zachary Davis, Joshua Davis, Brandon Porter, and Layton Porter.

The family suggests memorials may be made to the Huntington Disease Foundation in John Glenn’s name.
