John Lendon Hamm, II SHREVEPORT, LA - Services for John Lendon Hamm, II, 81, will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Cathedral of St. John Berchmans, Shreveport, LA. Friends and relatives are invited for a visitation from 10:00 am until service time at the church. John was born in Shreveport, LA to John Lendon Sr. and Edna May Nowell Hamm on November 29, 1933, and passed away August 31, 2015. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather; he graduated from St. John's High School in 1954. John married the love of his life, Patricia Savoy. They celebrated 61 years together July 25, 2015. He enjoyed camping, water skiing, and traveling with his wife and five children. He coached grade school and middle school boys and girls in football, basketball, baseball, and softball for 49 years. He retired in 1993 from the US Air Force and Civil Service. He was preceded by his parents, and granddaughter, Brooke Thilking. Leaving to cherish his memory are sons, John Hamm, III and wife, Lee Ann, Lonnie Hamm, Nathan Hamm and wife, Beth; daughters, Denise Staples and husband, Mike, Becki Robertson and husband, Chris; grandchildren, John Hamm, IV, Patrick Hamm, Candace Mothershead, Danielle Cox and husband, Jon, Stephen Staples, Ashton Hamm, Rachal Thilking, Jennifer Lee and husband, Zeb, Chris Robertson, Jr., Josh Robertson, Matt Hamm, Mary Catherine Herrick and husband, Rob; Seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ms. Gerry Littlefield. Honoring John as pallbearers will be his grandsons. The family would like to thank Dr. Manish Dhawan and staff at Christus Health Shreveport-Bossier, St. Joseph Hospice, and Stat Home Health for all their love and care.
