Shreveport, LA - John Henry Harris, 84, was born on January 9, 1931 in Caddo Gapp, Arkansas and passed away in Shreveport, LA after a brief battle with lung cancer on December 31, 2015.
He served our country in the United States Air Force for over 20 years as TSGT. He was a member of VFW post 5951 in Bossier City, LA. He dearly loved fishing, camping with his family, traveling, and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents John Lewis Harris and Lela Mae Webb. Also his wife of 50 years Peggy Lee Martin Harris; brothers Clay and Leon Harris; daughter Marilyn Lee Jourdain-Bushey; and son James Robert Harris.
He is survived by his sisters Clara Bell Baune of Hot Springs, ARK., Charlene Dennis of Blythville, ARK, Mary Christine Sherman of Hot Springs, ARK, and brother James Harris of Chicago, Illinois. Also his children Patty Mulvey and husband Kim of Portland, Oregon; Hopie Diann Pitre Raby and husband Harold of Baptist Lake, Alberta, Canada; Teresa (Terri) Peterson and husband Tom of Shreveport; Brenda K. Watson and husband Terry of Shreveport; one son John Lewis Harris and wife Deborah of Shreveport. He also has 12 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Shriners Hopsital.
