John attended St. Mark's Day School, First Baptist Church School, and Jesuit High School, graduating in 1982. He was currently employed by Acosta Sales and Marketing Co. John was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church of Shreveport.
John enjoyed every aspect of the game of football and viewed it from a fun, but in depth technical perspective. His special love and "concern" were for the Cowboys, Saints, and any outstanding high school program. He loved his fishing trips to area lakes, the Gulf Coast, and the State Line Hunting and Fishing Club, as well as planning his adventures for his trips to Colorado.
Preceding John in death were his maternal grandparents, Ted Berton Boddie and Gwen Boddie Gloer, and paternal grandparents, John Preston Hoffman, Sr. and Mary Colvin Hoffman. Surviving John are his parents, John Preston Hoffman, Jr. and Sandra Boddie Hoffman of Shreveport, LA; beloved sister and friend, Mary Elizabeth Hoffman Smith; niece, Laura Elizabeth Smith; nephew, Christopher Michael Smith, all of Richardson, TX; uncles, Ted Boddie and wife Lois, Jim Boddie and wife, Mary; aunt, Patsy Hoffman Bond; and numerous cousins.
John was a truly respectful gentleman with a wonderful and subtle wit and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him. Those that knew him will also gain strength knowing that he is at peace, forever with his loving Jesus Christ.
