John Edward Johnson

Bossier City, LA - Services for John Edward Johnson will be at 1 p.m. Friday, September 28, 2018 at Rose-Neath Bossier Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Richard Tull of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery, Bossier City. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Rose-Neath Bossier. John was born October 3, 1923 in McComb, MS to John and Francis Johnson and passed away September 22, 2018 in Bossier City. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a retired brick mason. He was preceded in death by his parents; children, John Edward Johnson, Jr. and Stacy Davis; brother, Robert "Buck" Johnson; sisters, Beatrice Woodall and Doris Roberts. John is survived by his wife of 45 years, Catherine Johnson; children, Gloria Leon, Michael D. Johnson, Vicki Woodward; stepchildren, Richard T. Freeman and wife, Brenda, Mary Hall, Cathy Matlock and husband, Phillip; 16 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. The family suggests memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. The family would like to thank the Christus Grace Home and the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Home for all their love and compassion.
