John Monk, Jr.
A graveside service was held for John Monk, Jr., age 52, at Arlington Cemetery of Homer, LA on Monday, December 6, 2021, at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Brother Dennis Longtroop. The family received friends at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Homer, LA, from 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m., prior to the service.
John was born July 16, 1969, in Shreveport, LA, to Sylvia Cooper and John Monk, Sr. He entered into rest on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at his home surrounded by family. John loved anything outdoors especially hunting and fishing. His family was everything to him. John was an honest and good man who loved and served his Lord, Jesus.
John was preceded in death by his mother, Sylvia Cooper Monk.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 30 years, Dawn Sullens Monk; father, John E. Monk, Sr.; son, Chance J. Monk; brother, Jesse Monk; nephew, Jason Stars; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Chance Monk, Jesse Monk, Wes Sullens, Anton Cooper, Jess Gravitt, Joe Watson, and Chad Cooper.
