HOMER, LA: A graveside service will be held for Mr. Robert John Poss, age 70, at Arlington Cemetery in Homer, LA, on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 from 4-6 p.m.
John was born on November 11, 1949 in Homer, LA, to Elmer and Ursuline Cosgrove. He entered into rest on Thursday, August 27, 2020. John was an extraordinary man to his community and father to his family. His love, compassion and guidance will be greatly missed by all. John will take his wisdom and courage with him, but his generosity and love will be left behind.
John was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Kristen Becker.
He is survived by his two sons, Bryan Poss and Kevin Poss and wife Amanda of all of Colorado Springs, CO; a brother, Mark Poss and wife Carmen of Homer, LA; two sisters, Mary Louise Eaves and husband John of West Monroe, LA, and Rita Massey and husband Larry of Calhoun, LA; two grandchildren, Jameson Edward Poss and Mackenna Joyce Poss; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers honoring John, his family suggests memorials be made to St. Margaret Catholic Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
