John Michael Prest

SHREVEPORT, LA- John Michael (Mike) Prest passed away on January 3, 2017 after a sudden illness. He was born on October 6, 1960 in Shreveport, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 9, 2017 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery. Father Phil Michiels of St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton will be officiating. Visitation will be at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home, January 8, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. with a rosary following. Mike was a retired engineer from the Union Pacific Railroad. Mike was an avid outdoorsman, loved fishing, hunting and riding his Harley. He never met a stranger and always helped anyone in need. Mike was a devoted son, father, grandfather and friend and will be greatly missed by all that knew him. Preceded in death by his Grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Prest; Mr. and Mrs. Marsh; his loving Mother, Janice Gale Kerry. He is survived by his father Mr. Charles John Prest; brothers Christopher J. Prest and Aaron Kerry; Step-father, Marvin Kerry. His son Korey Prest and Christopher Wendling; daughter, Andrea Meshelle Prest Peters, and precious grandchildren, Serenity and Kayla Peters; Jordan and Colten Wendling; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Honoring pallbearers will be Frank Leone, Rand Kerry, Max Griffin, Tony Jo Lewis, Mark Williams and John Spitale. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cathedral of St. John Berchmans, or the charity of your choice.
