Adam was preceded in death by his mother, Kim Purland, and his grandparents. Left to cherish his memory include his wife of 14 years, Heather Purland; children, Riley, Talan, and Wyatt Purland; father, John Purland (Janell); and sister, Krystal Jones (BJ); along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Adam graduated in 2004 from Southwood High School. He went to work for CenterPoint at 18 years old and worked 20 years in the gas industry. Adam was very knowledgeable in his career and gave it his all. He had several CE’s with numerous certificates for the oil and gas industry. Adam married his high school sweetheart, Heather in 2010, and together they have three beautiful children who were the light of his eyes and his greatest legacy. Adam was a light to all that knew him. He had a contagious smile that would brighten anyone’s day. He enjoyed life to its fullest. He was a founding member of the MADD AT’EM cornhole, meeting many friends that became “family” along the way. You could often catch him around town with cornhole bags, a beer in hand and smile on his face. Not to mention, MANY Friday nights in his back shop with the very best of friends that he held as close as any family. For the past 21 months and 14 days on day 654 Adam won his fight. Adam fought courageously until the absolute end. As always, he met and touched the lives of many along his journey. He fought with dignity and grace and always kept that smile, even on the worst days.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to our Burn Teams, Surgeons, and Nurses along the way. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to “Camp I’m Still Me” in honor of Adam Purland.
