BENTON, LA - Funeral services for John Curtis Shelton, 73, will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Danny Taylor of Belle Park Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park, Haughton, LA. Visitation will be 6 p.m. till 8 p.m. Friday, November 7, 2014 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City. Johnny was born February 2, 1941 in Shreveport, LA to Ernol Curtis Shelton and Clara Bell Hess Shelton and died November 5, 2014 in Benton, LA. He served his country in the United States Navy. Johnny was employed as a painting supervisor with the Civil Service at Barksdale AFB. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, John Curtis Shelton, Jr.; sisters, Betty Campbell, Mary Parker and brother, James Hendry. He is survived by his wife, Susan Carol Shelton; daughters, Sheila Renee Mathewes and husband, Allen, Sandra Lee Strength and husband, Roger; stepdaughter, Deena Renee Seegars and husband, Dwayne; grandchildren, Tabitha Mathewes, Hunter Mathewes, Ryan Wilson, Tyler Seegars, Victor Cascio and Kimberly Shomo; nine great grandchildren; sisters, Marcia Myers and husband, Randall, Linda Fetherston and husband, David, Louise Hill and many nieces and nephews. Honoring Johnny as pallbearers will be Tim Baker, Jerry Shelton, Mark Crosby, Butch Hollowell, Randall Myers, Jr. and James Parker. Honorary pallbearer will be Tony Cyr.
