Funeral services for John Robert Tucker, Jr., will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 2, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Officiating at the service will be Rev. McKee Williams, assisted by Charles Odom. John left his earthly life on December 28, 2017 at the age of 82 years. He was born on September 11, 1935 in Heavener, OK. Preceding him in death were his father and mother, John Robert Tucker, Sr. (Bob) and Opal Claborn Tucker. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Shela Garrard Tucker; two sons, John Robert Tucker, III (Trey), and Caleb Rob Tucker; one sister, Pat Gallaspy of Phoenix, AZ; two grandchildren, Thomas D. Tucker and Dyllan A. Tucker; and numerous nephews and nieces. Pallbearers will be Caleb Tucker, Trey Tucker, Adam Pelliccio, Cory Lecount, Curt Smith, and Craton Cochran. John was a man of many talents including designing and building projects of all kinds. He was an avid sportsman, winning state championships in both field and indoor archery. He also raced motocross and trained both sons in motocross and BMX racing and was also involved in racing go-karts and cage karts. John was employed at Lof Glass until its closing at which time he opened his own motorcycle shop called "Cycle Specialists" that served racing enthusiasts for 10 years and then moved on to work at General Motors until his retirement after 20 plus years. John will be greatly missed by all his family, friends, and his furry companion, Big Foot. We will all one day see him again.
