John Paul Wheless

LOGANSPORT, LA--John Paul Wheless passed away peacefully at his home in Bethel Community near Logansport on February 6, 2018. He was born on March 12, 1943 to Jack and Eva Mae Wheless; he lived his entire life in Bethel. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church where he held various offices over the years. He worked for Mansfield Publishing Company for many years as a printer and also a darkroom technician. His pictures won many awards for the newspaper. Later he worked for the DeSoto Parish Police until his health begin to fail. Graveside services will be held at 11a.m. Friday, February 9, 2018, at Bethel Cemetery with Rev. Nancy Wofford officiating. Visitation at 10 a.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by his parents and brother Jimmie Wheless. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Shirley Chandler Wheless; sons, Jason (Billie), Tim (Susan), Jerry; daughter Amy Decker (Lee); brother, Jack E. Wheless (Drucilla); eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A special thanks to Superior Hospice for their wonderful care.
