John F. Zawodnik

Funeral services for John F. Zawodnik, 77, will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Logansport, LA. Burial will follow at Cool Spring Cemetery in Logansport, LA. The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church in Logansport from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday, June 10, 2016.

John was born on March 13, 1939 in Erie, PA to Joseph and Mary Zawodnik. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, June 6, 2016 at his home in Logansport, surrounded by his family and friends.

John served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1956 through 1962. He then became a mechanic for KCS railroad where he retired from in 1998. John was a hardworking, gentle, kind man who was devoted to his wife and children. There wasn't anyone that John couldn't find good things about.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Zawodnik; his son Greg Zawodnik; brother Joseph and his wife Dorothy. Also preceding him was his in-laws Dennis and Kathleen Anderson and his brother-in-law Dennis Anderson Jr.

John is survived by his loving and devoted wife Nancy Anderson Zawodnik; his children John Zawodnik and girlfriend Rhonda Thornton-Hecker, Randy Zawodnik, Kevin Zawodnik, Lance Swarthourt and wife Betty, Brady Zawodnik and wife Jenee, and Daniel Zawodnik and girlfriend Hunter Garrett; daughter Kimberly Zawodnik and boyfriend Tony Maldonado; sisters Bea Sadler and Ginny Fitzpatrick; grandchildren Brittney, Reagen, Kasen, Benley, Kaleigh, Mariah, Crystal, and Jeremy; 1 great grandson on the way; brother-in-law Jimmy Anderson and wife Susan; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
