Johnnie Faye Booker Hensley, 80, went to be with Jesus on January 3, 2025, in Shreveport. She was born on July 15, 1944, in Mansfield La. She loved to cook for her family and attend church. She married Curtis Neal Hensley on March1, 1963. Johnnie graduated from Oak Grove High School in 1962. She worked at Stanley High School as Cafeteria Manager until her retirement. She was a member of The Pentecostals of Joaquin.
Johnnie is preceded in death by her parents, Boone and Viola Booker; beloved husband, Curtis Neal Hensley; daughter, Darla Ann Gortney; sisters, Bonnie Cordova, Gail McIntire, and Lou Fox; father and mother-in-law, Clayton and Lizzy Belle Hensley.
Those left behind to cherish her memory is her daughter, Debbie Davis and husband Chuck; sons Michael Hensley and wife Kathy, and Jeffrey Hensley and wife Christine; grandchildren, Misti Gortney (Easton), Rusty Gortney and wife, Marissa, Dustin Davis and wife Tiffany (Lindley and Charlie), Laura Manasco and husband Wesley (Jordyn and Brynlee), Austin Davis and fiancée Kara Clay, Ashley Brown Anton and husband Brian (Maiya, Axl, and Finn), Josh Brown and wife Erika (Brooklyn), Erika Darnielle and husband Zach (Dax, Palmer, and Nash), Braeden Hensley and wife Natalie (Rowyn and Jude), Monica Fonville and fiancée Stephen Fults (Adisyn and Hudson), Colton Eldridge (Emeri), Carly Reeves and husband Seth (Mitch), Samantha Walker and husband Blake (Bristol and Weston), Dan Glud and wife Ashlyn (Whitley and Rendon), Quentin Hanson and wife Jordan (Blue), Hannah Hensley (Karter), and Brianna Hensley; sisters, Tiney Allen, Brenda Walker and husband Paul, Linda Love and husband Buddy, Robin Smith and husband Grady, Donna Williams and husband Lonnie; and brothers, Ted Booker and wife Beverly, and Jerry Booker and wife Jean.
Those honoring the life of Johnnie as pallbearers will be Glenn Gortney, Dustin Davis, Josh Brown, Austin Davis, Rusty Gortney, Quentin Hanson, Braeden Hensley, and Doly Love.
Honorary pallbearers will be Aunt Johnnie Faye's nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield on Wednesday, January 8th at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Derrick Lightfoot and Reverend Bruce Kunkel officiating. Burial will follow in Prude Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. -until 8:00 p.m. for visitation.
