Johnnie Ruth Morton Stennett, 92, went to be with the Lord on September 11, 2020. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on September 19, 2020, at Beulah Baptist Church, 3417 Highway 481, Mansfield, Louisiana. Funeral services honoring the life of Mrs. Stennett will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Officiating the service will be Rev. Mack Black. Following the service, interment will be at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Stennett was born February 24, 1928, in Mansfield, Louisiana, to the late James M. Morton Sr. and Pauline Norris Morton. She was a graduate of Oak Grove High School, De Soto Parish, Louisiana. While residing in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, she was a member of Barcelona Road Baptist Church. She was a retired nurse, an avid reader, and a huge sports fan. Preceding her in death were her husband William Alfred Stennett, son Wayne Stennett, father James M. Morton Sr., mothers Pauline Norris Morton and Madge Worsham Morton, brother James M. Morton, Jr. sisters Helen Elliott, Kathryn M. Delouche, Raye Gamble, and Doris Meredith. Those left behind to cherish her memory are son Lynn Stennett and wife, Karen, granddaughter Renee' Swain, grandson Shelby Stennett, great-granddaughter Shyanne Swain, great-great granddaughter Brielle Renee' Jackson, brother Bill Morton, sisters, Martha Sayers and husband Joe, Fran Norwood and husband Bryan, and numerous other relatives. Pallbearers will be Bryan Norwood, Joe Sayers, David Delouche, Seth Meredith, Teddy Ray Basco, and Dennis Choate.
