Jon Warren Clemons Jr. of Mansfield, Louisiana passed away March 26, 2021 at the age of 87. Graveside Services honoring his life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, March 29, 2021 at Highland Cemetery in Mansfield, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Rev. Barry Joyner and Rev. Bob Latham. A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 29, 2021 at Rose-Neath Mansfield Chapel in Mansfield, Louisiana. He was born in Natchitoches, Louisiana on May 23, 1933 to Jon Warren Sr. and Priscilla Wallace Clemons. He grew up in Natchitoches where he was a four-sport letterman in high school. He excelled in football, basketball, baseball, and track. Even though dementia had taken most of his memory, he could still recall his football plays from high school. He graduated from Northwestern State University with a degree in Physical Education. As a freshman baseball player, he lead the Gulf State Conference in batting average. After Graduation Jon taught Math and Science at Youree Drive Middle School in Shreveport, Louisiana. After years of teaching, he worked at Nabors Trailers in Mansfield, Louisiana as a sales manager. Jon was also a Real Estate broker. He and his wife Faye owned a Real Estate Office in Mansfield for 40 years. Even in his retirement years he still dealt in Real Estate Properties. Jon was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Mansfield, Louisiana where he served as a deacon and Sunday School Director. Jon is preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Louie Faye Young Clemons; Grandson, Jonathan Patrick Clemons; Brothers, James Ernest Clemons, and Joe Paul Clemons. Jon is survived by his brother, Donald Patrick Clemons and wife Janet of Smithville, Oklahoma; Son, Jon Pat Clemons and wife Jan of Stonewall, Louisiana; Daughters, Veronica Elaine Haddox and husband Mike of Ruston, Louisiana, Carolyn Ann Hunter and husband Thomas of Ruston, Louisiana; 7 Grandchildren; 8 Great-Grandchildren. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tommy Mason, Joe Leone, Carl Jacobs, William Ammons, and James Scarborough. The Clemons Family would like to thank the nursing staff at Mansfield Nursing Center for their loving care of our Papa.
