HOMER, LA: Funeral services will be held for Joseph Lamar Foster, Sr., 70, at Pleasure Point Baptist Church in Homer, LA on Saturday, October 11, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Charles Johnston, officiating. Interment will follow at Sharon Cemetery near Lisbon, LA. The family of Mr. Foster will receive friends at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home on Friday, October 10, 2014 from 5-7pm in Homer, LA. Mr. Foster was born September 14, 1944 in Arcadia, LA to Joseph Lazarus and Mary Imogene Whitlock Foster . He entered into rest Thursday, October 9, 2014, in Homer, LA following a lengthy illness. Mr. Foster is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Lazarus and Mary Imogene Whitlock Foster, his first wife Laverne Hunt Foster and a stepson, Jeff Wiltcher. He is survived by his wife Judy Fowler Foster of Homer, LA; one son, Joseph Lamar Foster, Jr. of Monroe, LA; three daughters, Lori Wiltcher of Minden, Cindy Fischer and husband Jonathan of Seattle, WA, Stephanie Branch and husband Jason of Haynesville; one brother, Calvin Foster and wife Lorraine of Hammond, LA; six grandchildren, Tori Wiltcher, Kaylee Ardoin, Eric Williams, Heath Williams, Caleb Williams and Nicholas Branch; numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Larry Baker, Eugene Clark, Rick Skains, Gerald Myre, Wade Holloway and Alan Foster. For friends considering memorials to Mr. Foster, his family suggests the American Heart Association.
