Shreveport, LA - Joseph E. Morgan, loving husband of Marjorie Courtright Morgan for 64+ years, died at home on March 29, 2015 at the age of 85. Joe was born in Shreveport, LA on March 13, 1930 to his parents Joseph E. and Ruby Peek Morgan. He graduated from Byrd High School in 1947. He worked for Delta Airlines for 33 years, retiring in 1985. Joe loved the great outdoors, and headed west to Colorado every year for months on end with his wife & traveling partner, Marjorie. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. Joe is survived by his loving wife Marjorie Courtright Morgan; his two daughters, Linda Smith-Miller and Patty Morgan Connella; and son-in-law, Dwayne Connella; five grandchildren, Kevin Smith and wife Jennifer Garlington Smith, Kristi Smith, Chad Smith, Daniel DeSoto, and Rachael DeSoto Hansil and husband Rich Hansil. Honoring Joe as pallbearers will be grandsons, Kevin Smith, Chad Smith, and Daniel DeSoto, and Rich Hansil. Visitation for Joe will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Southside on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 from 5-7 p.m. A graveside service will be held the following day, Wednesday, April 1 at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Park East Cemetery, St. Vincent Avenue.
