SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services celebrating the life of Josephine Tuminello Guercio, 102, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Msgr. Earl V. Provenza. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery. A Rosary will be held at 5:00 PM, Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Rose-Neath's Marshall Street Chapel with visitation from 5:30 pm-7:00 pm afterward. Josephine Guercio was born on August 3, 1912 to Frank and Rose Tuminello in Shreveport, LA and passed away October 5, 2014. As a woman entrepreneur, Mrs. Guercio owned and managed several grocery and retail stores in Shreveport. She will be remembered by those who loved her for her amazing talent in the kitchen and the joy and unwavering support she provided throughout their lives. Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent C. Guercio; daughter, Roselynn Guercio; three sisters, Mamie Di Stefano, Tena Di Stefano, Camille Rosso and son-in-law, Sammy Provenza. She is survived by her daughter, Kitty Provenza; grandchildren, Victoria Provenza and Paul Provenza and his wife Charlotte; great-grandchildren, Mary Katherine O'Brien, Patrick O'Brien, Samuel Provenza, Charles Provenza and his wife, Allison and Ben Provenza. Serving as pallbearers will be Louis Di Stefano, Joseph Di Stefano, Samuel Provenza, Charles Provenza, Ben Provenza and Carl Constanza. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Provenza, Patrick O'Brien, Jimmy Rosso and Mary Katherine O'Brien. The family would like to express their appreciation to all the staff at the Montclair Assisted Living Dementia Unit. We are grateful to them for the loving care they administered to our loved one. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital or Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Shreveport, LA.
