Funeral services honoring the life of Josephine Jennings will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 18, 2021, at Jennings Chapel in Marthaville, Louisiana. Family visitation hours will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Jennings Chapel with a public visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. until service time on Sunday. Interment will be located at Beulah Cemetery in the Ajax Community.
Josephine was born on October 10, 1934, in Palestine, Texas to Hulan Shelby Morgan and Verna Mae Morgan. She entered into eternal rest on July 15, 2021, in Robeline, Louisiana.
Josephine served for three years on the Board of Directors for the Marthaville Good Ole Days Festival. She served for five years as a Pink Lady at Natchitoches Regional Hospital.
Preceding Josephine are her parents, Hulan and Verna Morgan; her husband of 59 years, Adam William Jennings (A.W.) of Marthaville, LA; her son, Russell Jennings of Natchitoches, LA; her sister, Edna Hicks; and her brothers, Dewey Morgan, Huey Morgan, Carl Morgan, and Roy Morgan. She is survived by her son, Lawrence Jennings and Melissa of Natchitoches, LA; her daughter, Pamela Jennings and Brett Dunn of Robeline, LA; her sister, Mildred Yates of Bossier City, LA; grandchildren, Alicia Rios, Charlene Willis, Colt Jennings, Race Jennings, Laurie Gursee, Michelle Sparks, and Layne Jennings; five great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Honoring Josephine as pallbearers will be Richard Jennings, Bobby Behan, Colt Jennings, Mike Birdwell, Brian Rios, and Gordon O'Con. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Chris Birdwell.
