Joyce Chenault

Keithville, LA - Joyce Chenault age 72, passed away on June 8, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Mrs. Chenault was born to Emma and James Blue on April 11, 1948 in Pleasant Hill, Louisiana although she was adopted by her loving aunt and uncle, Eliese and Richard Blue. She graduated from Fair Park High School in 1966. She married the love of her life on November 26, 1969, Herbert V. Chenault, Jr. They went on to have one beautiful daughter, Elisa Chenault Cubley. She retired from AT&T after 32 years. She enjoyed traveling, going to the beach and trail riding on her horses; she also loved to fish but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandbabies. Mrs. Chenault was preceded in death by her two sets of loving parents, Eliese and Richard Blue and Emma and James Blue; siblings, James E. Blue, Lucille Pruitt, Ruth Cotton and Myrtis Haltom. She is survived by her husband of 50 ½ years, Herbert V. Chenault; daughter, Elisa L. Cubley and husband Jason; grandchildren, Shawne Griffin and husband Andrew, Amber LaFleur and husband Brandon, Landen Cubley; great-grandchildren, Lindsay, Kyleigh, Gauge and Briar Griffin; sister, Evonne Orea; and a host nieces, nephews and extended family. An open Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2020 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, LA. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Pastor Doug Lovett will be officiating the service. Graveside services will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd, Shreveport, LA. Friends may sign the guest book at Rose Neath Funeral Home Southside Chapel, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, Louisiana. Honoring Mrs. Joyce as pallbearers will be Lee Harville, Tracy Sirman, Jack Sirman, Matt Girouard, Chris Robertson and Brandon Brown. Honoring her as honorary pallbearers will be Landen Cubley and Hayden Hardy. The family would like to give a special appreciation to the nurses at Willis Knighton Pierremont and The Carpenter House staff.
