HOMER, LA: Funeral services were held for Joyce Ann Prince, 67, at the Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer, LA, 405 E. 5th Street, on Saturday, January 17, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. R. B. Moore, officiating. Interment followed at Tulip cemetery in Athens, LA. The family received friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 16 from 5-7 p.m.
Ms. Prince was born July 7, 1947 in Minden, LA. She was called home to her Heavenly Father Thursday, January 15, 2015, surrounded by her family and loved ones. As a teenager Ms. Prince attended beauty school and was self-employed as a beautician for many years. Ms. Prince then worked 10 years for Edward Jones where she eventually retired. She loved spending time with family and friends and also enjoyed gardening.
Ms. Prince was preceded in death by her father, William Douglas Prince; a brother, Wayne Dale Prince and sister, Barbara Faye Prince.
She is survived by her mother, Helen Broughton Prince and her dad, Olin Prince; a son, Marty Lowrey of Homer, LA; a daughter, Jill Lowrey Rankin Armstrong and Bob of Waco, GA; three granddaughters, Hannah Lowrey, Gracie Rankin and Teagan Lowrey; and a grandson, Henry Rankin; three aunts, Elvie White, Ethel Kilgore and Lucy Simons; and many cousins and friends.
A special thank you to Horace Slaton for his love and dedication to her for the last ten years.
Pallbearers were Tommy Prince, Adam Rankin, Bob Armstrong, Chris Adams, Mike Hollenshead and David Simons.
Honorary pallbearer were Joe Freeman and James Perry Prince.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that any donations be made to the Wesley Chapel or Calvary Baptist Church.
The family would like to extend our gratitude to the doctors and staff at Homer Memorial Medical Center for their loving care.
