Juanita Ruth Matthews

Juanita Ruth DeVore Matthews passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Matthews was married to Charles L. Matthews for 54 years. Mr. Matthews passed away on November 21, 2010. Mrs. Matthews is survived by her daughter, Renee Hall and husband, Gene of Blanchard, LA; son, Chuck Matthews and his wife, Susan of Shreveport, LA; and grandchildren, Jonathan Matthews (Miranda) of Austin, TX, Courtney Townsend (Tyler) of Blanchard, LA, Emily Leslie (Derek) of Benton, LA and Brandon Gary (Wendy) of Chicago, IL and five great grandchildren. Mrs. Matthews was born in Milton County GA on November 18, 1930. Mrs. Matthews was a Secretarial Aide at North Highlands Elementary School, homemaker and babysitter. Mrs. Matthews was also head of the Mother's Day Out program and worked in the nursery for the First Baptist Church of Blanchard for many years. Visitation will be held at Kilpatrick Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City, LA on Thursday, February 7, 2019 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Services will be held at Kilpatrick Rose-Neath Bossier Chapel at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 8, 2019. Interment will follow at Forest Park West, Shreveport, LA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Blanchard, LA.
