Mrs. Sattler was born on July 11, 1937 and went to be with her Lord on July 18, 2016 after a strong and courageous third battle with cancer. She passed from this earth peacefully while holding the hand of the love of her life, Mr. Charles A. Sattler. They were married on September 13, 1958 at Little Egypt Church which began a life filled with fun, games, and travels shared with family and friends.Mrs. Sattler retired after 29 years as a Cafeteria Manager with the DeSoto Parish School Board. She was a wonderful cook and this talent was her gift to people. This was her expression of love. She enjoyed preparing meals and desserts from scratch for family, friends, their church and neighbors. Even guests that may have just dropped by would be fed something. You were not leaving Mom's home on an empty stomach and there was probably an abundance which meant you were taking some home with you too.
Mrs. Sattler was preceded in death by her mother, Norma Lee Barnhill; father Bergie F. Barnhill; and infant brother. She is survived by her husband of 58 blessed years, Charles A. Sattler; sons, Ray Sattler (Vanessa), Roy Sattler (Tammy) and daughter, Tina Parker (Troy); brother, Kennith Barnhill (Margaret). Her loved and adored grandchildren; Ashley Crawford (Weeks), Jared Sattler (Jennifer), Kyle Pearson (Katie), Laura Moore, (Reed), Meagan Pearson, Caitlin Sattler, Kasey Alford (Jeremy), McKenzie Wilder (Phillip), Tyler Key, Tarah Lott (Nick), and Ethan Parker (Paradise). Great-grandchildren; Colton, Carson and Cooper Crawford, Esther and Amos Sattler, Krislyn and Kamden Alford, Dylan and Jaycee Lott. We all know we have been richly blessed!
The grandsons will serve as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers are Chase Barnhill, Mike Brannon, Jimmy Hall, Paul Holder, Travis Holtzclaw, Ronnie Jordan, Tommy Keene, and John Young.
Some special people took wonderful care of Mom through this journey and we are so grateful for Dr. Boniol and the entire cancer treatment staff at Highland Christus Schumpert, Renee Matheny and Ms. Linda at Montclair Assisted Living Facility, and Ms. Bobbie Booker.
