Judith Lee McAdams Claycomb

Judith Lee McAdams Claycomb, 83, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 11, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born April 11, 1942 in Shreveport, LA to the late Dan Maurice McAdams and Georgie Nugent McAdams. Judy graduated from Byrd High School in 1960.

She enjoyed reading books and her kindle with a few of her favorite authors, Stephen King and James Patterson. She had a green thumb, enjoyed gardening, loved her flowers, herbs and fruit trees. She loved her pets, which she often referred to as family, Scottish Terriers; McDuff, McGregor, and Duncan and her grand dog, Sandor. She loved traveling to Destin, FL. She enjoyed looking at recipes and trying new desserts. She had the gift of gab, never met a stranger. She liked watching Joanna and Chip Gaines Fixer Upper, Beach Front Bargin Hunt, Highlander, Vikings, Discovery, History and a good thriller with a bowl of popcorn. She never missed Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show to see all the breeds and the finale, “Best in Show”. She enjoyed shopping and going to movies. Her most favorite were family gatherings no matter the occasion. Later in life she read more of her bible, keeping her Mother’s and Aunt Bertha’s close at hand, The Broadman Hymnal and Nugent Pioneers of Central Louisiana and referred to her collection of recipes and cookbooks often.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dan Maurice McAdams and Georgie Estelle Nugent McAdams; son, Russ Dan Claycomb and husband William George Claycomb Jr.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, William George Claycomb III, Stephanie Lea Claycomb Acker, Lauren Claycomb and Doug Claycomb (Emily); grandchildren, Brandy Manuel (Devin), William “Billy” George Claycomb IV, Kristopher Bret Claycomb, Aerionne Nile Acker, Brianna Paige Claycomb and Graham Richard Claycomb; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Reed Claycomb and Oona Lea Manuel.
