It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Judy Dominy Murrell, who left this world on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at the age of 80. She passed away peacefully at Cypress Point Nursing Home in Bossier City, Louisiana, surrounded by her loving family and favorite nurses.
Born on January 1, 1944, in Beaumont, Texas, to Syble Creech and Fred Dominy, Judy’s life was a testament to resilience, love, and joy. She was a beacon of kindness, generosity, and strength, touching the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Judy never met a stranger; her warm, heartfelt hugs left impressions on everyone she encountered.
Judy had a special place in her heart for all of God’s creatures, from the wild to the domesticated. She was often seen with a furry companion in her lap, a testament to her boundless compassion. Her creativity flourished through her love of crafting, painting, sketching, knitting, and especially puzzles, where she often sat with Chip, her cherished pet, nestled on her lap.
Above all, Judy’s greatest joys were her family and her unwavering faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She devoted her life to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always placing their needs above her own. Her deep and abiding faith guided her through life’s challenges and was a source of strength and peace until her final breath.
Judy is survived by her children, Tommy Murrell and wife, Tina, Lendon Murrell and wife, Dawn, and Shannon Olmstead and husband, Murray; sister, Glenda Jacobs and husband, Tommy with many nieces and nephews; her grandchildren, Troy Murrell and wife, Candy, Hallie Murrell, and Evan Shea Olmstead. As well as many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Syble Creech and Fred Dominy; brothers, Randy and Robin Hufstetler; and grandchildren, Crystal Murrell and Lendon Murrell, Jr.
A celebration of Judy’s life will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home. The service will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Judy’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her legacy of love, faith, and compassion is a gift that will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. She is now at peace, cradled in the arms of her Savior, where her love shines on eternally.
