Julia Johnson Collins

Funeral services for Julia Johnson Collins, 79, will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until time of service. Burial will be held at Rose-Neath Cemetery, 5185 Swan Lake Rd., Bossier City, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Reverend John Harp.

Julia was born on June 7, 1944 in Springhill, Louisiana to Ellis and Nettie Johnson and passed away Saturday, October 14, 2023 in Benton, Louisiana.

She was a people person with a good sense of humor and was loved and respected by family and friends, even the ones who parted ways. She was actively involved with the Ladies Auxiliary, the American Legion, Krewe of Artemis and Krewe of Elders. She enjoyed country music, dancing, walking, Hallmark movies, crabbing and shrimping in South Louisiana, LSU and Saints football and enjoyed any occasion to glam it up. She was known for her famous shrimp creole and dressing made at Thanksgiving and Christmas from scratch and for sneaking snacks to her grandbabies. She made friends easily and to know her was to love her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Collins; brother, Bill Johnson; sisters, Bonita Kamrath and Betty Brice and son-in-law, Terry Warner. Left to cherish her memory are children, Brian and Chloe Collins, Shelia Boales, Lisa Warner, Christine Collins and Jack Collins, Jr.; grandchildren, Chelsie Darling, Murphy and Foster Boales, Bradley Warner, Nathan Warner, Hayley Collins, Kennedy Hester, Savannah Collins and seven great-grandchildren.
