SHREVEPORT, LA - Dooley was born August 23, 1926, in Waskom, TX to Hallie Grant White and Howard Hale White and passed away peacefully in her sleep at home Monday morning on August 27, 2018, and was lifted up to her savior Jesus Christ. She grew up in Bivins and Atlanta, TX and graduated from Atlanta High School. She attended the University of Texas in Austin and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education from Centenary College in Shreveport, LA. Dooley was an elementary school teacher, member of Chi Omega Sorority, past president of the Dental Auxiliary and member of the Republican Party.
She was a lifetime member of First United Methodist Church where she served on the alter guild, taught Sunday school and was involved in other volunteer work. Dooley loved her church and had an abiding faith in God and country which held a special place in her heart. She loved and cherished her many dear friends, especially her bible study group and two bridge clubs. She enjoyed playing tennis, snow skiing, bridge, collecting rocks, and feeding her humming birds. Her true love and passion was being a devoted wife, mother, and "Mimi" to her grandson, Matthew.
Her many joyous times were spent being with her family on trips to Florida, collecting sea shells with Matthew, going on cruises and dancing to big band music. Her 63 years of marriage showed the great love and joy she shared with her husband Jimmy, whom she adored, as well as her two precious children, Carol and Rob. Dooley always put her family before herself and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.
Dooley is survived by her husband Dr. James Byron Weyman of Shreveport, LA; daughter, Carol Elizabeth Weyman; son, Robert Howard Weyman and wife Cheri; and grandson, Matthew Robert Weyman all of Dallas, TX.
